There are many applications for which CE-QUAL-W2 can be used. A calibrated reservoir model can help decision makers simulate a variety of watershed management scenarios and analyze the effect that these scenarios will have on the overall water quality of the reservoir. This approach is much more cost effective than a trial and error approach which usually isn't feasible either.
